Since beginning as an agricultural initiative between a beekeeper and a brewer in 2011, Caledonia Spirits has distilled small-batch spirits in Vermont, including its honey-based Barr Hill Gin and whiskey made entirely from Vermont-grown and malted grains. The independent, distiller-owned producer connects cocktail culture to agriculture through local sourcing, partnerships with farms, and a strong focus on pollinator habitat and sustainable production. In 2019, it moved from Hardwick to a sustainably designed distillery in Montpelier.
