What began as John and Pat Skrip’s grape-growing hobby in the 1970s became Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery in 1985, a family-run Pennsylvania winery producing wines from six vineyards across 80 acres in Berks and Lehigh counties. The Skrip family makes about 80,000 gallons of wine annually, including its flagship Turtle Rock Red, and now also distills spirits in-house at its Breinigsville facility under winemaker and head distiller John Skrip III. Four retail locations offer tastings, events, custom-labeled bottles and the expanded Clover Hill Spirits line.
Setter Ridge VineyardsFamily-owned Setter Ridge Vineyards grows grapes and makes European-style wines on steep, south-facing hillsides in Berks County, Pennsylvania. J&D Cellars Winery and VineyardWhat began with John and Dot’s weekend winery visits became a family-owned vineyard and small-batch winery on 16 acres in rural Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. John planted the vineyard in 2007 and the couple opened J&D Cellars in 2011, remaining directly involved from growing grapes and making wine to running tasting rooms and packing shipments.
