Since 1895, Columbus Washboard Co. has hand-assembled genuine washboards in the Appalachian town of Logan, Ohio, using equipment dating to the 1800s. The company moved from Grandview to Logan in 1999 and remains the only washboard manufacturer still operating in the United States, with local craftsmen making boards for laundry, display, and bluegrass music. Its factory also serves as a living piece of regional manufacturing history through guided tours.
