Founded in 1989 by two Loughborough University design graduates, deVOL Kitchens makes bespoke kitchen furniture and home accessories in Leicestershire, drawing on classic English design and traditional craftsmanship. From its base at Cotes Mill, a restored 16th-century water mill, the company has grown to more than 400 employees across nine premises while retaining in-house ceramics and metal studios. deVOL received the King’s Award for Enterprise in 2024.

Clive Christian InteriorsFounded in 1978 after Clive Christian restored a Cheshire manor, Clive Christian Interiors designs and handcrafts bespoke cabinetry and luxury interiors in England. Its original Victorian Kitchen helped establish the “statement kitchen,” while its North of England workshop now applies traditional cabinet-making and finishing techniques to individually tailored homes worldwide. Its distinctive rattan work has helped revive an almost extinct English industry, with a Leicestershire workshop and Britain’s first rattan apprenticeship scheme supporting skills passed down through generations. Nero CucineFounded by engineer-turned-entrepreneur Bartolomeo Bellati and designer Stefano Venier, Nero Cucine makes custom “Hyper Kitchens” in Italy that combine sculptural interiors with concealed, proprietary technology. Its in-house engineers and artisans develop mechanisms such as the Wing Top, which lifts a stone surface to reveal a stainless-steel cooking workspace, while the company’s headquarters and R&D operation remain in Sacile, Italy.
