Downey Ridge Environmental is the West Virginia company behind Greasezilla, a waste-to-energy technology developed to address the difficult disposal of fats, oils and grease. Its systems help wastewater facilities and grease haulers recover brown grease as a biofuel feedstock while sending separated water for treatment. The company announced a 2024 agreement with bp to support expansion of this approach through new FOG receiving stations.
