Founded by Mordechai Fried in 1975, Downright makes down bedding and fine linens by hand in its Brooklyn studio. Now a family business with sons Sol and Shmiel alongside its founder, the company still fills, fluffs and inspects made-to-order pillows and comforters in-house, supplying both homes and luxury hospitality partners. Downright has grown from a two-person basement operation to a roughly 50-person Brooklyn manufacturer while preserving its small-workshop approach.
