Since Morris and Louis Fischer opened a butcher shop on Manhattan’s West 72nd Street in 1949, Fischer Brothers has remained a full-service glatt kosher butcher serving New York with custom-cut meats and poultry. The shop, also known as Fischer Bros. & Leslie, carries the legacy of partner Leslie Niederman, a Holocaust survivor, while preparing homemade foods and baked goods alongside its butcher-counter specialties. Orders are cut and wrapped to each customer’s specifications, preserving the old-fashioned personal service that has defined the business for more than 75 years.
