Funktional Brewing Company is a Maryland hobby project founded in 2024 by three entrepreneurs who wanted to bring their shared interests into one venture. It is known for experimenting with craft beer that incorporates functional ingredients, with its first prototypes introduced at the Maryland Craft Beer Festival.

Denizens Brewing CoA conversation among founders Emily Bruno, Jeff Ramirez, and Julie Verratti over the 2012 holiday dinner table led to Denizens Brewing Co., which opened as Montgomery County’s first production brewery.
