Founded in 1970 by woodworker George Martin, George’s Furniture is a second-generation family-owned shop in Lancaster County that makes custom, solid-hardwood furniture by hand. One craftsman follows each piece from selecting and drying the lumber through construction and finishing, then signs and dates the finished work. Now operated by George’s daughter Juanita and son-in-law Chris Horst, the business continues its old-fashioned, made-to-order approach from its farm workshop outside Maytown.
