Founded in the Detroit area in 1973, Graphite Machining, Inc. manufactures and precision-machines graphite, carbon, and graphite-composite parts, taking projects from raw material through finished components. Its facilities in Michigan and Pennsylvania include more than 125,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 150 pieces of automated machining equipment, supporting parts ranging from small heating elements to exceptionally large fabricated assemblies. Through its sister company, Advanced Carbon Technologies, GMI also provides in-house high-temperature purification with purity levels below 5 ppm total ash.
