Lancaster County’s Haldeman Mills makes roasted cornmeal and family-crafted baking mixes, carrying Pennsylvania Dutch milling traditions into products sold nationwide. Founded in 1969 by James Haldeman, the family business is now owned by Richard and Becky Landis, who continue producing the Brinser’s Best and Stauffer’s brands. Its signature cornmeal is made from locally grown corn roasted before grinding, a method the company says has been preserved for more than a century.
