Born from a late-1970s request to capture and distribute heat from a gas log set, Angier-based Heatmaster manufactures gas hearth products, including vented and vent-free gas logs. The company produced its first gas logs in 1984 and is known for a distinctive molding process that uses real logs as models, along with individually crafted and hand-painted finishes. After the current owner purchased the company in 2005, Heatmaster expanded its product lines while retaining its North Carolina manufacturing roots and focus on realistic fireplace design.
