Opened in 2010 as part of the family-owned Long Acre Farms in Macedon, JD Wine Cellars makes small handcrafted batches of wine on the farm, including 100% fruit wines. Joan and Doug Allen’s daughter Audrey joined the business full time in 2018 after gaining winemaking experience in New Zealand and Australia, bringing a new generation’s perspective to the winery. The cellar works with a half-acre Marquette vineyard and sources additional New York grapes and juices from Wayne County and the Finger Lakes.
Frontenac Point Vineyard & Estate WineryFounded by Jim and Carol Doolittle in 1978 on a former fruit-growing property overlooking Cayuga Lake, Frontenac Point Vineyard & Estate Winery grows its own grapes and makes small-batch Finger Lakes wines. The Doolittles handle the work from planting and hand-picking through winemaking, bottling, and presentation, with son Lawrence continuing the family business as its second generation. J&D Cellars Winery and VineyardWhat began with John and Dot’s weekend winery visits became a family-owned vineyard and small-batch winery on 16 acres in rural Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. John planted the vineyard in 2007 and the couple opened J&D Cellars in 2011, remaining directly involved from growing grapes and making wine to running tasting rooms and packing shipments. Azure Hill WineryBegun in 2006 by co-owners and winemakers Leslie Knipe and Joseph Sheehy, Azure Hill Winery is a small farm winery on Keuka Lake’s west side producing limited-release wines from estate-grown and locally sourced grapes. The business grew from wine made in the couple’s basement cellar into a permanent home and expanded tasting room, where the owners still serve their wines alongside lake and vineyard views.
