Founded in 1914, Kotobuki Seating International makes seating and telescopic systems for public venues, while also producing the capsule beds it helped originate in Japan. The fourth-generation Fukasawa family remains involved in the company, whose history includes pioneering Japan’s first telescopic grandstands in the 1950s and manufacturing the world’s first capsule bed for Capsule Inn Osaka in 1979. Its installations now span five continents, including more than 60,000 sleep capsules.
