At a McKees Rocks plant where forged steel wheels were first made in 1902, McKees Rocks Forgings produces circular forgings and axles for industrial, mining, and transportation applications. The 130-employee operation has made circular forgings under the McKees Rocks name since the 1980s and now combines a 10,000-ton press with in-house engineering, machining, and inspection. Its work ranges from custom closed-die forgings to rail axles, with production historically reaching more than 100,000 axles per year.
