Charlie “Mutt” Ferrell Jr. developed the sweet-then-tangy recipe with a little heat in 1956, carried it with his family during Air Force deployments to Japan, and passed it to his granddaughter, who began sharing it in 2013. Produced in the USA, the sauce remains a family legacy centered on everyday meals and gathering people around the table.
