North Cliff Vineyards is a 20-acre Long Island vineyard and winery where Edmund Power grows the grapes and makes the wine himself as a vigneron. Near the Long Island Sound in Mattituck, the farm hand-harvests its fruit and lets native vineyard yeasts ferment the wine, while wild plants remain among the vines instead of being cleared with herbicides. The result is distinctly North Fork wine, including the first Long Island Merlot aged in bourbon barrels.
