Since 1902, Norwalk Furniture has handcrafted custom upholstered furniture in Norwalk, Ohio, building each piece by hand to a customer’s specifications. Its 440,000-square-foot factory employs 225 craftspeople, including many second- and third-generation artisans, while an employee stock ownership plan introduced in 2021 gives full-time workers a stake in the company. Twelve local families preserved the operation during the 2008 recession, and it remains a locally rooted American manufacturer with a deep upholstery tradition.
