Founded in 1966 by Angelo S. Petitto and his family, Petitto Mine Equipment, Inc. is a family-owned and operated Morgantown manufacturer of heavy-duty, crawler-track-mounted equipment for longwall coal-mine moves. After beginning as a repair facility, the company started manufacturing in 1978 and is known for its longwall shield retrieval equipment, used in mines in the United States, Australia, and internationally. It also undertakes custom manufacturing and repair work.
