Founded in 1955 by helicopter pioneer Frank N. Piasecki, Piasecki Aircraft Corporation develops, builds and flight-tests experimental rotorcraft and unmanned aircraft. The Coatesville research-and-development company has developed and flown more than 25 advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft, carrying its founder’s vertical-flight legacy into projects such as the KARGO II autonomous cargo UAV. • Carson Helicopters, IncFounded by Frank Carson in 1958 in a Pennsylvania farm barn, Carson Helicopters now maintains and modernizes rotary-wing aircraft while designing and manufacturing composite rotor blades and other aerospace components. The Perkasie company remains led by Carson’s three sons and operates from an 81-acre campus with more than 144,000 square feet under roof, including a deep inventory of S-61 parts.
