Pico Systems grew out of Jon Elson’s home machine shop and makes motion-control interfaces and servo electronics for CNC machine tools, alongside specialized nuclear instrumentation. Elson began building and adapting CNC equipment in the early 1980s, converting a 1941 Bridgeport mill and later developing his own hardware for Linux-based control systems. The company’s product line reflects that hands-on origin, with controllers shaped by years of building, machining and testing equipment in the shop.
