About

Founded in 2018 with research support from Hong Kong’s Nano and Advanced Materials Institute, RAWS Tech develops a patented additive that helps conventional plastics depolymerize after they reach the end of their useful life. Its low-temperature Thermal Random Assimilation process works with plastic manufacturing methods already in use and is designed to break polymer chains down far enough for naturally occurring bacteria to digest them, rather than leaving microplastics. RAWS introduced its products to the North American market in 2023 and received a U.S. patent in 2022.
