Born as a family company in the Basque Country in the 1960s, Refractarios Kelsen makes dolomitic refractory materials for the iron and steel industry. Based in Gipuzkoa, it has grown into a European benchmark with 145 workers, annual production capacity of 125,000 tonnes and an integrated supply of its own high-purity dolomite through the Calcinor Group. Since 2025, its manufacturing presence has extended to Tarentum, Pennsylvania, linking Kelsen’s European expertise with a local U.S. steelmaking tradition dating to the 1960s.
