Tracing its roots to Swank Refractories, founded in 1856, TYK America manufactures refractory materials and equipment for the iron, steel and aluminum industries at its Pennsylvania plant. The wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s TYK Corporation was established in 1982 and combines Swank’s long history in steel-pouring refractories with Japanese refractory technology, including isostatic products for continuous casting. TYK America also develops technical systems for steelmaking operations and exports products and technical information through TYK’s international network.
