Founded by homebrewers Scott Janish and Michael Tonsmeire, Sapwood Cellars in Columbia brews two distinct sides of beer: fresh, highly aromatic hoppy ales and barrel-aged mixed-fermentation beers. Their brewing is grounded in brewing science and a preference for balanced, drinkable beers rather than punishing bitterness or sourness. Since opening its kitchen and expanded tasting room in 2025, the brewery has also paired its beer with Albura Taqueria’s Mexican-inspired food.
Columbia Kettle WorksColumbia Kettle Works brews its own beer in a Columbia brewpub and serves it alongside food at its Columbia location, Lancaster’s 2nd Gear Taproom, and the IronSpire Taphouse in Adamstown.
