Since 1997, Sheldrake Point Winery has made estate wines from its sustainably tended vineyard on the western shore of Cayuga Lake, where a lake-moderated climate and glacial soils shape the grapes. The winery is particularly known for its long-running dry rosé tradition and ice wines, and maintains a library of more than 5,000 bottles dating to its first vintage. Its winery buildings also reflect an early sustainability focus, with one powered by solar energy since 2004 and another by geothermal energy since 2018.
Rose Hill VineyardsSet in a 125-year-old barn on Long Island’s North Fork, Rose Hill Vineyards grows grapes and makes estate wines as part of a small winery-and-inn experience. Its 28 acres under vine are farmed sustainably with minimal intervention, while solar panels and a wind turbine supply the energy for the winery, cellar, vineyard and farmhouse inn. Rose Hill also produces the Governor’s Cup-winning 2019 Clarity Cabernet Sauvignon, honored as New York’s top red wine at the 2025 New York Wine Classic.MATTITUCK, NY

Wölffer Estate VineyardFounded in 1988 by Christian Wölffer, Wölffer Estate Vineyard makes wines, ciders and spirits from its sustainably farmed estate in the Hamptons. What began with 14 acres has grown into a 175-acre estate, with Christian’s children Marc and Joey now operating the business alongside winemaker and partner Roman Roth. Its 55-acre Sagaponack vineyard draws on maritime conditions shaped by Bridgehampton loam and Atlantic breezes, while the estate’s Summer in a Bottle rosé reflects its knack for pairing Long Island character with a modern sense of style.SAGAPONACK, NY
