SOMA began in 1999, when Clive Corfield and David Rootman started making furniture in Rootman’s garage. The Burnaby company has since grown into a nearly 12,000-square-foot shop, where a network of craftspeople develops custom work for residential and commercial clients. Corfield brings experience making fine furniture since 1973, while SOMA’s projects include carefully tailored millwork for Vancouver’s Shangri-La and Fairmont Pacific towers.
