Founded in 1992 from a 12-acre vineyard, Suhru & Lieb Vineyards now farms 54 acres on Long Island’s North Fork and makes estate-grown still and sparkling wines. Led by veteran winemaker Russell Hearn, the Cutchogue winery is known for its dry, fruit-forward style and its unusually broad range, including lesser-known varieties under Suhru Wines and classic sparkling and Bordeaux-style wines under Lieb Cellars. Its sustainably certified vineyards include the largest contiguous plot of Pinot Blanc in the United States.

Wölffer Estate VineyardFounded in 1988 by Christian Wölffer, Wölffer Estate Vineyard makes wines, ciders and spirits from its sustainably farmed estate in the Hamptons. What began with 14 acres has grown into a 175-acre estate, with Christian’s children Marc and Joey now operating the business alongside winemaker and partner Roman Roth. McCall WinesFounded by Russ McCall in 2007, McCall Wines farms vineyards and produces estate-grown wines on Long Island’s North Fork in Cutchogue. Its Corchaug Estate borders the Fort Corchaug archaeological site and Down’s Woods preserve, while the family’s sustainable farming includes a wind turbine and organic, grass-fed Charolais cattle. Channing Daughters WineryFounded from Walter Channing’s first Bridgehampton vines in 1982, Channing Daughters Winery makes small-batch Long Island wines by hand from its 28-acre estate and selected North Fork sites. The winery is distinctive for growing more than two dozen grape varieties—including several rarely planted on the East End—and for experimenting with field blends, skin fermentation and indigenous yeast while producing about 14,000 cases a year. Rose Hill VineyardsSet in a 125-year-old barn on Long Island’s North Fork, Rose Hill Vineyards grows grapes and makes estate wines as part of a small winery-and-inn experience. Its 28 acres under vine are farmed sustainably with minimal intervention, while solar panels and a wind turbine supply the energy for the winery, cellar, vineyard and farmhouse inn.
