Founded in 1966 from Fred Thomases’s sale of Moire fabrics, the family-owned Swavelle Group has grown into a designer, domestic manufacturer and convertor of textiles for residential, contract, outdoor and RV applications. Its six-brand portfolio ranges from decorative upholstery to performance fabrics, with custom design support and domestic production at its Garfield, New Jersey mill. Swavelle also builds sustainability into its textile work, including upcycled and recycled yarns, PFAS-free options and a Bella Dura fiber that begins as a by-product and ends as a fully recyclable product.
