Columbus-based American Whistle Corporation is the nation’s only manufacturer of solid brass whistles, making them start to finish in its own Ohio factory since 1956. The small, family-owned operation hand-finishes and inspects each whistle while producing more than one million a year, and it also die-strikes custom logos onto whistles used as safety tools and lasting keepsakes. Visitors can see the process at the company’s working factory, which is open for tours.
