The United States Mint is a U.S. government coin manufacturer established by Congress in 1792, producing the nation’s circulating coins as well as bullion and numismatic coins. Its four production facilities make coins and medals, and its Philadelphia facility also produces dies and employs the Mint’s medallic artists, who create designs and sculptural models for the nation’s coins and medals.
