Co-founded in 1987 by physicist Paul Farrell, Brookhaven Technology Group is a Stony Brook research-and-development company that turns government-supported physical-science research into commercial technology. Since beginning its current R&D work in 1998, the company has completed eight Phase I and four Phase II SBIR projects for the Department of Defense and Department of Energy, with its recent work centered on high-temperature superconducting cables for research and industrial partners.
