Since 1886, Charles C. Lewis Company has supplied and processed carbon and alloy steel plate from its Springfield, Massachusetts headquarters and regional facilities. Its in-house work can take plate closer to final size through cutting, grinding, stress relieving and other processing, including toll work on customer-supplied material. The company’s steel bases for Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s 2005 “The Gates” installation in Central Park are among its most distinctive projects, and it holds Intertek ISO 9001:2015 certification.
