Clarkson University BAJA SAE is a student engineering team in Potsdam that designs, manufactures, tests, and races a single-seat all-terrain vehicle through the Baja SAE competition. Known as Golden Knights Racing, the team has built a car every year and marked its 45th anniversary in 2023, with recent results including a third-place finish at OktoBAJAfest in 2025. Its students gain hands-on experience in the shop while competing against teams from around the world.
Clarkson Formula SAEClarkson Formula SAE is a 20–25-member Clarkson University student team that designs, builds, and tests an open-wheel prototype racecar for the SAE International Formula SAE competition. Its students develop the car through specialized subteams and fabricate key systems in-house, including pushrod suspension and carbon-fiber components. CCNY RacingRebuilt from two members in 2023, CCNY Racing is a small, hands-on student team at The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering. Its students design and build a single-seat off-road race car in their Harlem shop before taking it to Baja SAE competition. The team returned to dynamic events in 2025, passing tech inspection and finishing 43rd overall in South Carolina.
University at Buffalo SAESince 1984, University at Buffalo SAE has been a student engineering club that designs, builds, tests, and races off-road vehicles through SAE competitions. Now competing as UB Motorsports in Baja SAE, the collegiate chapter draws 105 undergraduates from across engineering disciplines and has built more than 50 vehicles.
