Since 1984, University at Buffalo SAE has been a student engineering club that designs, builds, tests, and races off-road vehicles through SAE competitions. Now competing as UB Motorsports in Baja SAE, the collegiate chapter draws 105 undergraduates from across engineering disciplines and has built more than 50 vehicles. Its hands-on, in-house approach gives students experience with the full engineering design process while pursuing a minimalist racing philosophy.

Terps RacingSince 1982, Terps Racing has been a University of Maryland student-run program that designs, builds, tests and races formula-style and Baja off-road vehicles for collegiate competitions.
