KeyState EnergyIn Clearfield County, KeyState Energy is developing River Hill Fertilizers, Fuels & Chemicals, an advanced manufacturing and power-generation project designed to turn locally extracted natural gas into lower-emission ammonia and nitrogen products. The more than $2 billion project integrates captive gas extraction with hydrogen synthesis, ammonia production, carbon recycling and geological storage, with commercial operations anticipated in 2031. KeyState says the project is intended to replace imported supplies serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic while bringing new manufacturing employment to a former coal-producing region.
Power to HydrogenColumbus-based Power to Hydrogen develops and supplies modular Hybrid AEM electrolysers that split water into hydrogen and oxygen, from 10-kW demonstration units to systems built from 250-kW stacks for installations up to 25 MW. Its technology combines renewable-compatible dynamic operation with lower-cost, non-precious-metal components and a simpler balance of plant, and was invented through a U.S. Department of Energy project.
