The more than $2 billion project integrates captive gas extraction with hydrogen synthesis, ammonia production, carbon recycling and geological storage, with commercial operations anticipated in 2031. KeyState says the project is intended to replace imported supplies serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic while bringing new manufacturing employment to a former coal-producing region.
