T.Y. Fine FurnitureFounded in 2004, T.Y. Fine Furniture builds solid-wood furniture by hand in Columbus, Ohio, using traditional joinery and hardwoods sourced from naturally fallen Ohio trees. Founder Tarik Yousef brings an engineer’s eye to a small, roughly ten-person shop where each piece is made to order rather than outsourced. Its food-grade, zero-VOC organic finish—developed with an Ohio State University microbiologist—along with a lifetime structural guarantee reflects the company’s aim to make furniture worth repairing and passing down.COLUMBUS, OH
Martin's Furniture USMartin’s Furniture grew from Harvey M. Martin’s small Pennsylvania wood shop in the early 1960s into a family-owned maker and retailer of handcrafted hardwood furniture, with custom pieces still produced on the Martin family homestead. Melvin M. Martin and his three sons continue to run the business, pairing local hands-on craftsmanship with modern equipment and sustainably sourced hardwoods. Every Martin-built piece is inspected and marked with the craftsman’s signature and date, while wood waste is reused for facility heat and local farm bedding.337122EPHRATA, PA
57NorthPlankKnown in Columbus for a made-to-order approach, 57NorthPlank is a Midwestern furniture maker whose craftsmen build each piece for a particular home rather than stocking finished goods. Customers can work with the company to adjust a design’s size, while the workshop uses solid hardwoods and carefully inspected construction. Its furniture is made in Ohio with locally sourced wood when possible.COLUMBUS, OH
Gat CreekGat Creek turns Appalachian hardwood into made-to-order furniture in the USA, from dining tables to bedroom and home-office pieces. Each item is signed at the bench by the artisan who builds it, giving the company’s solid-wood craft a distinctly personal mark. Its “Forest to Fabulous” approach also puts responsible manufacturing and the natural durability of wood at the center of the work.BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV
