Founded in 1997, Lone Star Farms is a South Island sheep and beef farming business producing grass-fed lamb, beef and wool across six farms and 13,600 effective hectares. • Double Z Land & LivestockEstablished in 2013 on a Turner farm overlooking the Androscoggin River Valley, Double Z Land & Livestock raises grass-fed sheep and beef alongside pasture-raised poultry for direct sale. Owners Chris and Kate Abbruzzese run the farm as a connection between people, food, and the land, with Katahdin sheep at the heart of its flock and a ZZ Mercantile for local pickup. • Roseda Black Angus FarmWhat began as Ed and Rosemary Burchell’s retirement farm in Monkton in 1986 became Roseda Black Angus Farm in 1996, raising local Black Angus cattle and producing all-natural, dry-aged beef. On 350 acres with about 600 head of cattle, the family-run operation tracks its animals from birth through processing, using selected genetics and a 14-to-21-day dry-aging process.
