RIT’s Electric Vehicle Team designs custom electric race motorcycles, putting student passion and ingenuity to work at Rochester Institute of Technology. The team combines industry-comparable experience with interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together members around the engineering and construction of electric motorbikes.
RIT RacingFounded at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1991, RIT Racing is a student-built Formula SAE program known for passing engineering knowledge from one generation of members to the next. More than 60 active students now carry that tradition into electric-car competition, where the team earned its first FSAE Michigan championship in 2024 and followed with overall wins in Pittsburgh and Toronto in 2025.
Terps RacingSince 1982, Terps Racing has been a University of Maryland student-run program that designs, builds, tests and races formula-style and Baja off-road vehicles for collegiate competitions. More than 120 students work across its internal-combustion, electric and Baja teams, gaining hands-on experience in a dedicated machine shop and assembly space.
