Founded in 2008 by Brooklyn native Mark Snyder, The Red Hook Winery makes New York state wine in an urban cellar on Pier 41, from grape to bottle. Managing winemaker Christopher Nicolson works with consulting winemakers Robert Foley and Abe Schoener to translate the distinct character of vineyards in the Finger Lakes and North Fork of Long Island. Its Red Hook tasting room pairs those site-focused wines with views of the East River and Verrazzano Bridge.
