For three generations, Carl Rosenberry & Sons Lumber has milled Pennsylvania hardwoods in Fort Loudon’s Appalachian valley, continuing a sawmilling tradition that began with D.R. Rosenberry in 1920 and became a family partnership in 1955. Its tree-length harvesting and milling system produces customer-specified lengths, while the company is especially known for custom wide-plank hardwood flooring and operates a kiln with 350,000 board feet of capacity. Rosenberry’s SFI-trained crews manage timber with sustainable forestry practices within a 60-mile radius of the mill.

Hickman WoodsFor four generations, Hickman Woods has grown, milled, and crafted Northern Appalachian hardwood into flooring and lumber from its family-managed forests in western Pennsylvania. The family’s roots reach back to Harry Hickman’s logging work in the 1930s, while Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring, founded in 2000, became known for character-grade rift-and-quarter-sawn and live-sawn flooring.
