Haiama BeautyBlack-woman-owned Haiama Beauty grew from Allison Shimamoto’s experience rebuilding her curls after a damaging big chop. Based in Philadelphia, the company creates handcrafted, organic haircare for textured-hair families, with formulas developed specifically for wavy through coily textures rather than adapted from straight-hair products. Its signature combs feature iconic Black femme silhouettes and customizable dried botanicals, glitter, and pigments, making each one a functional piece of wearable art. The brand also builds community through its Crown Ambassador program for aspiring beauty-industry professionals.
Magic Hair CompanyEstablished in 2010, Magic Hair Company creates custom human-hair wigs and extensions, with a particular focus on glueless lace wigs and personalized coloring. Owner Janiece Russell brings more than 10 years in the hair-extension industry, and the company’s former Culver City boutique served thousands of clients before moving exclusively online.
