The Arm is a Brooklyn print shop that uses vintage equipment and an extensive American wood type collection to make artist editions, posters, and other printed work. Its Williamsburg studio also offers print-for-hire services, hands-on workshops, and artist residencies, with three Vandercook presses and a large flatbed proof press capable of printing sheets up to 35 inches wide.
Woodside PressFounded in 1993 in Queens, Woodside Press is a traditional letterpress studio that prints and binds finely crafted work from its Brooklyn Navy Yard shop. Its distinctive strength is a large working collection of handset type alongside two Linotype machines and a Ludlow caster, making it one of New York City’s notable homes for hot-metal typography.
