From a Riverhead food hub, East End Food connects East End farms and small food businesses with markets and community institutions while working to make nourishing local food more accessible. Founded through community-led programming in 2010, the nonprofit has processed surplus produce, distributed food to schools and food pantries, and supported more than 40 vendors through its indoor market. Its new hub is being built around a shared commercial kitchen and regional farm-to-school distribution program, backed by a $5 million New York State grant.
