Founded by the Stevenson family in 1990 on a 50-acre farm in Tionesta, Pleasant Valley Farm raises heritage-breed livestock and poultry, including registered Dexter cattle, and hatches day-old birds for on-farm pickup. Dan and Emily Stevenson also farm with Belgian draft horses rather than tractors, using horse-drawn equipment in their organic, self-sufficiency-minded agriculture. The historic property includes an 1894 bank barn and a working blacksmith forge, where Dan makes hand-forged items alongside the farm’s food and breeding-stock work.
